Devoted mother of four and wife of NBA player turned NBA coach, Adrian Griffin, this former Vice President of the National Basketball Wives Association, is redefining the art of womanhood. A native of New York, this Seton Hall graduate always had a penchant for language. Daughter of a city worker and school teacher, Audrey's exposure and love of words came early. An avid artist and athlete, Audreys youth was filled with dance, track, acting, modeling, and writing. By the time she reached junior high penning poetry and journaling had turned into award-winning writing contests and published works. By the time she graduated high school, Audrey was an undefeated track champion and accomplished writer. Awarded a full athletic scholarship to the Beast of East Seton Hall, Audrey decided to pursue a degree in communications. In addition to her title as an All-American track star, Audrey later went to earn a Masters of Arts in Education, graduating with honors.
After a successful career as an educator, Audrey decided to turn her propensity for words into an impressive empowerment enterprise. Creator and editor of popular lifestyle blog Removing the Cape, Audrey is a modernday sage. Sharing wisdom and insight on such issues as marriage, family, child-rearing, sex, fashion and pop culture, Audrey represents the new voice of contemporary women in America. When shes not managing the demands of family and career, Audrey spends her time giving back and helping others. A faithful community advocate for years, Audrey has worked with such organizations as Feed the Children, Dress for Success, and House of Ruth, a shelter for battered women. She has also donated her time to many causes including voter registration drives, scholarship fundraisers, clothing drives, and more. Audrey has also served as a leader in organizations like Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and Behind the Bench, the National Basketball Wives Association, where she served as Vice President.
